Wonderful product, highest quality, runs a bit big

I have purchased many LANAcare items and been extremely pleased with them, and this one is no exception. We own many, many wool diaper covers/pants, and this is one of the nicest ones we have - one of the first that I reach for. Made of super soft, slightly felted organic merino wool. The weight is warm but not so insanely thick that your baby will never wear them (works great for Fall/Winter/Spring here in the SF Bay Area, both indooors and out). When I read the review about these pants being like "toaster" I was a bit worried, but if you just use these as the outer layer (rather than as a midweight layer) they are perfect for moderately cold weather (50s-60s F). Fits baby well (adjustable waistband). The cut is a little baggy, even over a cloth diaper (sort of the equivalent of baby sweatpants) - but it works fine for us. If you prefer a super slim fit though you may want to go with something else. In my experience, LANACare sizing runs a bit big. We purchased the size 74 (6-9mo) for our somewhat chunky 9.5mo old (28", 20 lbs) and there is still room to grow...the size 80 would have been too big. If you plan to felt this item further you should size up, otherwise I would recommend sizing down 1 size. There are lots of pictures of babies of different ages/sizes wearing different sizes of these pants on the Green Mountain Diapers website that I found quite helpful...they made me comfortable with ordering a size down. Amazing. Like putting your child in a toaster, although obviously not as dangerous! They're lovely and cozy and perfect for wearing under snow trousers in freezing conditions.

Wonderful pants!

We purchased these mainly as our "going out" pants for our cloth diapered little guy. We don't actually own any "regular" pants for him, as I just find it annoying to try to fit slender pants over a cloth diaper, and after using both PUL/Nylon covers and wool with our first, we have been using just wool with our second, as it eliminates any diaper irritation, and wool is just so much nicer. These pants are so soft, and not that I need another reason to cuddle my little one but these are so cuddly! I like that they look like regular pants and they wash very easily (we just wash it in Eucalan wool wash) I highly recommend these for any baby or child, even if they are out of diapers.
