By BG
Being a first time mama, I had no idea what type of changing pad to use for our changing table. I liked that this one was made of natural fibers and that it had a cloth like cover vs. a vinyl. I've used it now for 7 weeks and absolutely love it. I didn't end up going with a cover, although I've been told that any contour changing pad cover would work for this. I just use larger cloth diapers and they work great, cause I can easily change them out when they get soiled. The Oeuf Pad easily wipes clean and even though it's cloth like, it acts waterproof. My son absolutely loves laying on this changing pad, it seems really comfortable for him and he feels secure.

arrived next day! Great alternative to more expensive natural pads. I called the companys nyc office and they confirmed no fire retardants in the pad, also no vinyl.

By Brenna and Kiran
This item arrived quickly and sealed in plastic. Once I opened the plastic, I immediately noticed a strong smell. The changing pad was putting off fumes which did not smell natural. I would have been happy if they were the woodsy or nutty sort of smell that you hear about when snooty people talk about wine. This smell reminded me of chemicals or carpet store. I had barely opened the packaging and decided to return it. I put it in my car right away because I wanted to keep it out of the house. When I got in my car later the smell was very strong even though the item was boxed up. Despite the advertising, these strong volatile organic compound smells are rarely good for infants. As a first time parent I know I may be over reacting (hence the 2 stars instead of 1) but I am inclined to keep my vinyl changing pad which does not smell. The next best "natural" changing pad is around $100. If anyone has other recommendations please comment. Regardless, please be warned that from my experience of this product I believe this off gassing is a bad indicator for the product. I may just get a nice cover for the vinyl pad we have in the hopes that it will help.
