3They've changed.....and not in all good ways
By Jessica E. Wright
I've been using Bum Boosa wipes for the last two years and have loved them...until now. I recently received my usual order of a case and upon opening the box I immediately noticed a difference in the packaging. Now big deal, just a change in appearance. However, as soon as I opened up a pack other differences became apparent. First of all, the wonderful citrus aroma that I was used to was gone. Now they smell more "perfumey" and not as naturally fresh and uplifting. Based on this I checked the ingredients and compared them on the old versus the new wipes. The ingredients had changed. Here's a comparison:OLD WIPESWaterTocopherol (Vitamin E)Vegetable GlycerinLavandula augustifolia (Lavender) oilCitrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) oilAloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera) LeafPotassium SorbateSodium BenzoatePolysorbate 20Citric AcidNEW WIPESWater (Purified Artesian Aquafier Water)Polysorbate 20Vegetable GlycerinLavandula augustifolia (Lavender) oilCitrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) oilAloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera) LeafCalendula ExtractTocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E)Potassium SorbateSodium BenzoateCitric AcidThe biggest ingredient difference is the occurance of Polysorbate 20. It is much higher up on the ingredient list of the new wipes, which means there is more of it in the formula. This is noticeable for me. My guess is the manufacturer changed this for cost purposes. The old wipes cleaned and refreshed wonderfully without leaving my daughter's diaper area too moist or soapy. The new wipes are a different story. They leave more of a soapy residue and wetness behind. Not that it's foamy or anything, but I can defnitely tell the difference. The new wipes also have calendula, which is a wonderful addition. The other difference I've noticed between the two is in the dispensing. The old wipes were difficult to get out of the package (they weren't "connected" like most so that you had to dig around to pull them out individually). The new wipes are the opposite to the extreme! You can't simply pull one out! They just keep coming and coming! You need two hands to seperate one wipe from another. Not a huge issue, just something I noticed. I actually prefered digging with the old wipes rather than a stream of wipes coming out at once.I'm still happy with the Bum Boosa wipes and feel they are much better than most on the market, but I'm really hoping that they will go back to the old formula. In the meantime I may try out some other brands to compare. I hope this information helps other parents who are "product conscious" in their search for the best wipes.

190% natural??
By C. Collins
These wipes are awful in every way. Not only do they stink horribly, enough to give me a headache, but they leave a sticky residue all over my poor little ones tush and our hands. Not to mention the minor complaints of the towels sticking together and being easily torn. I also find the labeling almost laughable - 90% natural? Give me a break, the bamboo wipes are at least 90% of the total mass of the product so all the things that matter are not "natural". I am kicking myself for buying a case before trying them out.Update: Since Bum Boosa chose to comment about how natural their product was I wanted to expand on how toxic they actually are. Here are a list of the most concerning ingredients in this product.tocopheryl acetate - Known Human Skin Toxicant, suspected environmental toxin, and studies have shown tumor formation in large doses. [...]Polysorbate 20 - in itself inert but is at high risk for contamination with ethylene oxide and heavy metals. [...]Pottassium Sorbate - Also a Known Skin Toxicant and some studies have linked it as a carcinogen specifically to skin application. [...]Sodium Benzoate - has had recent controversy as some studies have shown it to be linked to ADD, it also caused damage to yeast mitochondrial DNA and there is a concern that it might be causing similar damage to human DNA. Others fear it in its cumulative amounts can cause cancer. Also, since buying this case I finally broke down and started making my own wipes - I avoided it straight through my daughters entire diaper period because it seemed like it would take too much work. How I wish I had tried it sooner. They are WONDERFUL. I just fold a couple dozen of these cotton wipes - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000138GNY/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i02 - in half and put them in my wipes warmer then I just make a bulk (gallons worth) concoction of the Castile wipes recipe found on the internet. I pour enough of the solution over the stack of wipes to moisten the entire stack. I wash with my cloth diapers or you can wash alone in the washing machine. Dry. Fold. Stack. And moistened again. Very easy. One cloth cleans even the worst poopy with just a couple of swipes. My boys tushy is happy, soft and smooth. And best of all none of the caustic chemicals from these wipes (or any others) touch my sweet baby's skin. I do appreciate Bum Boosa trying to make a less toxic wet wipe, but quite honestly they have missed the mark and it just comes across as green washing in my book.

2Sounded a lot better than they turned out to be
By CA Mom
I ordered these wipes to use on my newborn (my second child) after seeing their good rating with EWG. Turns out they sound a lot better than they really are. First off, the smell is incredibly strong. Don't get me wrong, it's a pleasant smell, but it's way too much for a baby wipe. You can actually smell them outside of the sealed package. Second, the wipes are way too thin. I have to use twice as many as I do with other brands, and they wad up easily when you're trying to wipe bigger messes. And finally, because they are so thin they stick together when coming out of the package so they're difficult to use quickly and I end up pulling out more than I want to. I really wanted these to be great, but unfortunately, I won't be ordering them again.
