As first-time parents, we researched cloth diapers extensively both online and through our friends. Many sites recommended buying a variety to try before deciding what you like best. Seemed silly to me since then you would have a bunch of mismatched diapers you didn't like...and they aren't exactly cheap! Bum Genius continually came up as a good brand for AIO and we were keen on not having to stuff/destuff inserts so we chose the Elemental AIO. Our son is 6 weeks now and we started using these when he was two weeks old (newborns are just too scrawny for these bulky diapers--legs are skinny, clothes too small for a fat bum, etc). These are SO much better than disposables which leaked every other day! I am continuously impressed when he unloads his morning poop, how it all stays in the cloth diaper. We have 24 diapers and do a load of laundry every 2 days. I bought the Bum Genius detergent and do a cold soak cycle without soap followed by a hot cycle with soap. Dry on high and then bleach in the sun about once/week. It is much easier than I anticipated and they are cute as anything--my little boy is a mini sumo wrestler.

I am a mom of two and have been using cloth diapers for the past four years. I have tried a few brands and have come back to bumgenius. I started with their 4.0 but now that the elemental organic is available that is what I prefer. The cotton is softer and they are AIO which is so much easier to use. They have to be pre-washed multiple times like any cloth diaper but after that initial washing period I have been very happy. No leaks and they have stayed in good condition through both kids.We also use Happy Heinys which I am happy with. They are very similar to bumgenius but come with prints, which didn't really matter to me, but they are cute. I haven't used them as long as the BG's but so far they have held up. If you would like to mix the two brands they are both nearly the same.

By SE
These diapers are amazing. I originally bought a pack of a different brand because they were a little bit cheaper and they leaked every time. Based on the recommendations of friends, I decided to try the bumgenius elementals and I have not been disappointed. They are easily adjustable and fit my 4 month old perfectly. They also snap down to fit newborns; I wish I'd had these all along. They don't leak at night either, and my boy sleeps through for about 10 hours straight. I use the bummies reusable liners with them to keep him feeling dry. They do take a long time to dry, and the instructions recommend line drying. Having a really sunny spot for this is helpful. I've dried them in the dryer though and they came out fine.
